A Perfect Union Art Gallery invites Central Florida artists to submit work for "Every Step Counts", a powerful group exhibition curated by JoKeeta Johnson on behalf of the gallery. This exhibition will highlight artists with heritages rooted in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, including Indigenous peoples of North America.

Theme: "Every Step Counts"

This exhibition honors the unsung heroes—known and unknown—whose courage, persistence, and sacrifice have advanced humanity. Artists are invited to interpret and respond to individuals or collective movements that have made meaningful contributions in the areas of:

• Social Justice & Human Rights
• Nature & the Natural World
• Military Service & Protection of Freedom

Whether the story is historical, contemporary, personal, or ancestral, Every Step Counts recognizes that progress is built one step at a time—and that every step matters.

Eligibility

• Open to Central Florida artists with heritage from:

• Mexico
• United States
• Canada
• Indigenous Nations of North America

Media Accepted

• Paintings on canvas
• Paintings on wood
• Sculpture

All work must be gallery-ready and ready to hang or display.

Submission Guidelines

• Artists may submit up to two (2) works
• All submissions will be reviewed by a Selection Committee
• Work must align with the exhibition theme and professional presentation standards

Application Period:
January 27, 2026 – February 9, 2026

Artwork Drop-Off:
March 3 & March 4, 2026

Exhibition Dates:
March 7 – March 25, 2026

Artwork Pick-Up:
March 26 & March 27, 2026

JoKeeta Johnson is a Curator for A Perfect Union Art Gallery and is leading the North America regional exhibition as part of the gallery’s global cultural series. Her curatorial vision centers on honoring legacy, resilience, and the power of collective memory through contemporary artistic voices.
