A Perfect Union Art Gallery invites artists to submit work for "Echoes of South Asian Heritage", a juried exhibition celebrating the richness, diversity, and enduring influence of South Asian cultures and communities.

Part of the Gallery’s Global Heritage Series, this exhibition explores the stories, traditions, memories, and cultural expressions that continue to resonate across generations and geographic boundaries. 

Through art, we seek to honor the voices, histories, and creative legacies that shape South Asian identity while recognizing the ways heritage evolves and adapts in a changing world.

Artists are encouraged to submit works that reflect themes such as:

• Cultural identity and belonging
• Family, ancestry, and generational connections
• Migration and diaspora experiences
• Tradition and contemporary life
• Spirituality, ritual, and celebration
• Storytelling, folklore, and mythology
• Architecture, textiles, music, dance, and food
• Memory, resilience, and cultural preservation
• Personal interpretations of South Asian heritage

Whether inspired by ancestral traditions, lived experiences, or contemporary perspectives, submitted works should contribute to a meaningful dialogue about what it means to carry culture forward.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to emerging and established artists.

Artists of all cultural backgrounds are welcome to apply; however, preference may be given to work that authentically engages with the exhibition theme and reflects South Asian heritage, experiences, or influences.

ACCEPTED MEDIA

All visual art media are welcome, including:

• Painting
• Drawing
• Photography
• Printmaking
• Mixed Media
• Sculpture
• Textile Art
• Digital Art

All artwork must be suitable for public display.

EXHIBITION GOAL

Echoes of South Asian Heritage celebrates the stories, traditions, and creative voices that connect past and present. The exhibition seeks to foster cultural understanding, dialogue, and appreciation while highlighting the diverse experiences that shape South Asian heritage today.

Through visual storytelling and artistic expression, the exhibition invites audiences to reflect on the enduring echoes of culture, memory, identity, and belonging. Together, these works will create a vibrant tapestry of perspectives that honor heritage while embracing contemporary voices and visions for the future.

We welcome artwork that reflects both personal and collective journeys and encourages meaningful connections across cultures and communities.
