Global Heritage Series – Regional Focus: Middle East & North Africa

A Perfect Union Art Gallery invites artists working across all fine art disciplines, as well as Poetry / Spoken Word performers, to submit work for Afterimage—a group exhibition exploring what lingers beyond visibility.

An afterimage is what remains after the moment has passed. A trace. A memory. A presence that resists disappearance. This exhibition reflects on what stays with us—visually, emotionally, culturally—after absence, distance, or transformation.

Artists are invited to engage with:

• Memory and distortion
• Absence and presence
• Identity and perception
• What persists beyond the visible

Submissions may be visual or performative—quiet, conceptual, and deeply intentional.

Eligibility
Open to artists across all fine art disciplines and Poetry / Spoken Word performers
This exhibition highlights artists connected to the Middle East and North Africa
Work must align with the exhibition concept

About the Exhibition

"Afterimage" is a quiet investigation of perception and memory—what remains after seeing, and what cannot be fully held.

About the Curator

Hend Al-Rijab serves as a curator for A Perfect Union Art Gallery as part of the Global Heritage Series. Her curatorial approach for Afterimage is shaped by an interest in how emotion, memory, and perception take form through distortion, fragmentation, and visual tension.

Drawing from her own artistic perspective, Al-Rijab brings together works that explore what lingers beneath the surface—where clarity dissolves and meaning becomes fluid.

Afterimage invites both artists and audiences to engage with the traces we carry: the blurred, the unresolved, and the deeply felt.
