“The Bridge” is both a symbol and an invitation—representing the pathways that connect people, histories, and traditions across time and place. Rooted in the rich cultural landscapes of East Asia—including Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Hong Kong, Mongolia and Singapore—this exhibition explores how art becomes a living bridge between communities.
Drawing from her personal journey from Taiwan to the United States, Grace Liu reflects a world shaped by layered histories and diverse influences. Taiwan itself stands as a cultural crossroads—where indigenous traditions, colonial histories, and evolving identities coexist. These intersections echo the broader East Asian experience, where shared philosophies such as respect for harmony, reverence for nature, and deep cultural continuity unite distinct nations.
At the same time, this exhibition extends beyond geography. Much like the United States—a vibrant tapestry of cultures—“The Bridge” celebrates the connections formed through migration, education, and shared human experience. Through her work as both an artist and educator, Grace has witnessed how creativity fosters understanding among people of different backgrounds.
The artworks in this exhibition serve as bridges—linking past to present, tradition to innovation, and one culture to another. They reflect warmth, joy, and the beauty of everyday human connection, reminding us that while our histories may differ, our capacity to connect is universal.

GLOBAL HERITAGE SERIES: EAST ASIA EXHIBITION
A Perfect Union Art Gallery is proud to present the Global Heritage Series, a year-long journey celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our world through art. Each month we focus on one of the ten regions of the world.
On Saturday May 9th at 5:00 PM, we turn our focus to the East Asia region, curated by Grace Liu. This exhibition will showcase artists with heritages from East Asia, including:
China, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.
Through this collection, visitors will experience a range of artistic expressions that honor tradition, explore identity, and celebrate the beauty and complexity of East Asian cultures.

A Perfect Union Art Gallery warmly invites the community to experience “Mended,” a powerful group exhibition in our Global Heritage Series, highlighting artists whose heritages are rooted in Europe. The exhibit seeks to explore the fractured, torn, disrupted experiences and histories, from personal to global, and the paths to healing and hope, leading to the ultimate triumph of our shared human story.
EXHIBITION DATES
April 11– May 2, 2026
To be human is to experience pain of loss and brokenness – from limbs to hearts; from object to relationships; from countries to shattered personal dreams. And yet, both nature and human spirit seem to gravitate towards healing, mending, repurposing, restoration and hope. This exhibition explores the breadth and width of this universal process and its unique, individual expression.
‘Mended’ is a heartfelt invitation to a personal participation of each artist and each viewer. Whether through the artistic process or observation of the finished piece, we have the opportunity to step back and reflect on our own lives’ struggles, big and small, and the thread of grace that mends our minds and souls, binding us together in hope for a better future.

About the Curator
Gordana Sjostedt is a curator with A Perfect Union Art Gallery and leads the European regional exhibition as a part of the gallery’s global heritage series. Her curatorial vision centers on, to use words by Brenee Brown, the gifts of imperfection; discovering beauty in the overlooked or discarded; a quiet somewhat subversive pushback on the ‘disposable culture’ where both things and people have a short ‘shelf life’. Her mother’s incredible mending skills and her father’s limitless creativity in fixing broken things has inspired her to garner their wisdom and tenacity as she faces all her own torn and fractured pieces that make up life.
Mended is a tribute to all those who didn’t balk at the difficulties and challenges of their ‘current moment’ but kept steady in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen and welcomed them from a distance, confessing that they were strangers and immigrants on the earth
(Hebrews 11:13).

A Perfect Union Art Gallery extends huge thanks to everyone involved in making the Triple “O” Interactive Art Game such an inspiring and successful experience throughout the 2024–2025 season.
We are truly grateful for the collaboration with FusionFest and shared vision that made this creative journey possible. A special thank-you to all of our featured artists, judges, contestants, and audience members for their energy and insight, and to everyone who joined us in celebrating art, culture, and community through play.
As we take a brief pause, we’re already looking forward with great excitement to the 2026 season of the Triple “O” Interactive Art Game—where imagination, conversation, and connection meet once again.
