A Caribbean Heritage Exhibition — Call for Art
A Perfect Union Art Gallery invites artists to take part in "From the Ground to the Crown", the 2026 finale of our Global Heritage Series. Each chapter has given a people the room to tell its own story, in its own voice. This closing chapter belongs to the Caribbean — not as a place on a map, but as a way of standing in the world.
The title says it plainly: from the ground we were handed, to the crown we were never meant to reach. This is not a claim of standing above anyone. It is the record of a people who refused the size they were assigned, and rose.
What we’re looking for. Work about the Caribbean experience — the ideas, the memory, the spirit of Caribbean identity — not simply pictures of the region. Every entry has two parts, and both carry equal weight: the artwork itself, and your written account of the experience behind it. One without the other tells only half the story.
What to submit
Selection & catalog
Up to two works per artist may be selected for the exhibition. One work will be chosen for the printed catalog — which is why every image must be high-resolution at the time of submission.
Recognition
Selected work will be recognized across four criteria — coherence, execution, articulation, and reach. There is no first or second place; each of the four carries an equal financial award. These awards are drawn from a target sponsorship amount currently being confirmed, with final figures announced ahead of the opening. Awards are made at the jurors’ discretion, and not every category is guaranteed to be conferred. One award maximum per artist.
The details
This is a fee-free call. All work must be gallery hung-ready — framed or finished and wired to hang, no exceptions; oversized work is considered case by case. Work sold during the exhibition is split 60% to the artist and 40% to the gallery. Submitting your work grants the gallery permission to reproduce the images in the exhibition catalog and promotional material.
A Perfect Union Art Gallery exercises reasonable care in handling all submitted work but assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage while work is in transit or on display. Artists are encouraged to insure their own work.
